mission

The mission of Park Place Outreach Youth Emergency Shelter is to provide services to at-risk youth and their families, increase their functional level, and reunify families whenever possible.

history

Park Place Outreach, Inc. formerly Marshlands Foundation d.b.a. Savannah Runaway Home is located at 514 East Henry Street in Savannah, Georgia. Park Place Outreach has served the Savannah community since 1984 providing emergency shelter, meals and counseling to at-risk youth and their families. Park Place Outreach serves youth age 11 to 18 who are going through a stressful period at home or who are victims of physical and/or mental abuse.

Park Place Outreach is the only facility in Savannah and Chatham County that serves this segment of the population, including curfew violators. Park Place Outreach works very closely with Greenbriar Children’s Home. Our clients are often transferred there when longer-term placement or transitional living services are needed.

Park Place Outreach plays an important role with the Savannah - Chatham Metropolitan Police department to reduce juvenile crime. We have many examples of young people coming to our shelter on the verge of a life of crime who have become good and productive citizens of our city.

Park Place Outreach is licensed by the Georgia Department of Human Services and certified by the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless. Park Place Outreach is supported in part by the U.S. Dept of Health & Human Services Administration for Children and Families and the USDA Breakfast/Lunch Program.

Park Place Outreach does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex age or disability.
