Mattress Dash
On Sunday, October 15th, the south end of Forsyth Park will be turned into a rip-roaringly good time as costumed teams of five race mattresses during a 150m dash, mono a mono for glory and prizes! Teams must build a racing frame capable of holding a single twin mattress and 1 rider, while being pushed by the other four team members. See official rules for complete details. Prizes and awards for Fastest Team, Greenest Racing Frame, Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice. BYOB! Costumes/themes highly encouraged!
All proceeds benefit our sustainability project for Park Place Youth Emergency Shelter. We are providing new energy-efficient appliances and solar panels to offset their use. Let’s make Savannah a more sustainable place, one mad dash at a time!
5k Run for Homeless
The Inner City Night Shelter is hosting its 4th Annual 5k Run for the Homeless on Saturday, October 28, 2017. This is a fundraiser to help men, women, and children in our community who may find themselves homeless on the streets. Proceeds from the event will go to support the programs and services at the Inner City Night Shelter of Savannah, GA. The run/walk will start at the SEDA Building on Hutchinson Island at 131 Hutchinson Island Road, Savannah GA. Awards will be given to winners of the 5k run in gender and age categories.
